I have set up my monthly transfer via online banking with my bank and they are kind enough to send me a notification each month when the transfer is 5 days out. It's certainly not my bank's fault that I need to send this money each month, but when I get that email message on or around the tenth of each month, I feel aggravated and annoyed at the sight of it.
Before anyone calls me ungrateful, I would offer 2 schools of thought on a filial obligations:
- The most commonly held view goes something like: "Your parents sacrificed for you, nurtured you, loved you, and made sure you were well taken care of...you have a moral obligation to care for them in their golden years"
- A less conventional view is: "I dont think I owe owe them at all. They cared for me because it was their J.O.B. to do so. They brought me into this world, whether by choice or chance, and they were obligated to care for me because they spawned me."
Anyway, I get aggravated
